In many poor countries people have to work extremely hard to make a living. Far away from the Western luxury they don’t have time to organize themselves for their struggle for a better living. Still quite some individuals and some groups are trying to put all their energy and efforts in a better future for their children and community. Grassroots Projects would like to reach out a helping hand to that kind of initiatives. Some criteria are:

* small-scale activities,
* the people their self are in charge,
* project brings structural solutions and possibilities,
* long live the environment,
* donors get detailed information about the progress of the project.

Grassroots Projects wants to show that development work can work out fine. We don’t have expensive managers who wants to earn a high income and non of the money people give to our organisation goes to administration costs or whatever. All our well-trained and educated volunteers are active 100% voluntary. It’s more about the mission for an equal world. On regular scale volunteers travel to projects worldwide. Flight tickets, costs of accommodation, food etc. are for their own pocket. Every Euro or Dollar you give to our organisation will reach one of our projects.

The organisation is quite new and still in progress. But our enthusiastic team is working full-swing, and in 2006 who hope to set up our first projects. The founder of Grassroots Projects has visited Mexico and Guatemala in March till June of this year. He made a movie about the Zapatistas in Chiapas, Mexico and a documentary about the actions against Plan Puebla Panama in El Pèten, Guatemala.
